BENGALURU: Two days of the incident after a man brutally murdered his two minor stepdaughters in Dasarahalli, the Amrutahalli police have arrested him.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused Samith had changed his clothes and left the house after the murder. He was angry with his daughters for opposing him. He was suspicious of his daughters and had come home on the day of the murder suspecting that some friend of the elder daughter may be home.
He picked up his stepdaughters, Shruti and Sonia, from school at 12.30 pm on Saturday. As soon as they reached home, his daughter went to her room and started talking on her mobile phone. Samith stood outside her room and overheard her conversation.
Later, around 3 pm, Samith returned home and as he approached his daughter, who was still talking on her mobile phone, she hid the phone under the bed. The accused’s suspicion grew stronger and he found the mobile phone and checked it. After he finished checking the phone, he hit and killed her with an axe.
Meanwhile, the younger daughter, who was in the washroom, came out and told him about her sister using the phone. He asked her to bring a meal and as she came out of the kitchen, also killed the younger girl too by hitting her with the axe.
A case has been registered at the Amrutahalli police station and further investigation is on.
