Man who killed former live-in partner arrested from Vijayawada

Arpit was arrested from Vijayawada for the murder of Akanksha.

BENGLAURU: The city police have arrested the killer of a woman, who was his live-in partner in the city, from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.

The accused Ankit, hailing from Delhi, had killed his girlfriend Akanksha by strangling her after an argument over their relationship. He had left the body on the floor of her house, locked the room from outside and fled.

The incident came to light when Akanksha’s roommate returned home after work at night. The incident had taken place at Kodihalli in Jeevan Bima Nagar.

Arpith and Akanksha, who hailed from Hyderabad city, were working in the same company in Bengaluru and later moved to different companies. Akanksha was a B.Com graduate and was working in the sales section in a private company.

Previously, the two were living together in a house. When Akanksha’s parents did not agree to their marriage, the two had a fight after which they separated. Arpith later met Akanksha where was living and the two again got into an argument. Arpith then her killed by strangulation.

The accused tied a cloth around her neck to make it look like a suicide. But he was not able lift the body to hang it from a fan. Hence, he left it on the floor, locked the house from outside and had escaped.
