BENGALURU: The Sadashivanagar police have arrested a fraudster, who hacked Priyanka Upendra’s phone, from Bihar. The arrested accused has been identified as Vikas Kumar. He hacked Priyanka Upendra’s mobile phone and sent messages to contact numbers stored in it, demanding money.

After the actress filed a complaint, the police launched an investigation, arrested the suspect in Bihar and brought him to Bengaluru. During questioning, he admitted that he had spent the Rs 50,000 for liquor that he had taken from Priyanka’s son.

On September 15, the fraudster contacted Priyanka Upendra posing as a delivery agent, saying that he is unable to find her residential address to deliver an order. The fraudster gave her a number along with a hashtag, and asked her to call him back saying he will deliver the package. When the number was dialled, Priyanka’s phone got hacked. Initially, they thought there might be a problem with the phone itself.

Meanwhile, Upendra and his acquaintance Mahadev’s phones were also hacked, according to the complaint. When the hacker called, Priyanka assumed the caller might be the delivery person as he had ordered some items online by actress for home delivery.
