BENGALURU: A notorious criminal, who was wanted in 930 digital arrest cases across India, was arrested by Kolkata police on Friday from Bengaluru. The accused, Chirag Kapoor a.k.a Chintak, was living at JP Nagar in Bengaluru posing as a software engineer.
According to sources, Kapoor was the mastermind in connection with a case registered in Kolkata, and the police had been tracking him for some time. A team of Kolkata police officers had arrived in Bengaluru and conducted a raid at Kapoor’s residence in JP Nagar, leading to his arrest.
The police have now taken Kapoor into custody and taken him to Kolkata for further questioning and investigation. Kapoor’s arrest is seen as a major breakthrough in the investigation into the digital fraud cases, which had been reported from various parts of the country.
