VIJAYAPURA: An unidentified man attempted to kidnap a eight-year-old girl at Mukund Nagar here early on Thursday morning. However, he fled after some locals raised an alarm and gave a chase. The whole incident was captured in CCTV camera.
Soundarya Biradar (8) was walking along a street when the unidentified man, wearing a helmet, suddenly approaches her, grabs and gags her and takes her away on a waiting two-wheeler.
When some locals started to give a chase, the kidnappers dropped off the girl after some distance. Footage from CCTV also shows the alleged kidnapper fleeing on foot.
“I was returning from a shop when the man just picked me up. I did not scream. They dropped me at some distance when people started giving them a chase”, Soundarya told Public TV.
The incident occurred in Gol Gumbaz police limits and a case has been registered. The police are on the lookout for the alleged kidnapper and his associate.
