CHITRADURGA: A man killed his six-year-old son because after he asked for food as he was hungry, at Hale Rangapura village in the taluk, on Thursday evening. The father has since been absconding.
Thippesh an Gowramma had got married out of caste and had a six-year-old son, Manjunath. He was addicted to alcohol and the couple would get into arguments regularly. Gowramma, who had gone to a neighbour’s house to get food, returned to find the boy unconscious and rushed him to a private hospital in Chitradurga. However, the boy had died enroute. She later lodged a complaint with the Baramasagara police alleging that her husband and mother-in-law Shettamma had killed her son with an eye on property.
However, Shettamma has denied the allegation. Meanwhile, the Baramasagara police have registered a case and are on the lookout for Thippesh.
Speaking to media persons, Gowramma said the boy was sleeping in a shed and Thippesh had told her to get some food from a relative’s house. “By the time I returned, he had thrashed the child so badly and now I have lost my son. He was badly drunk. How can a father to this? I want him killed in an encounter. I don’t care if I lose my husband”, she said.
