SHIVAMOGGA: A man who had got stuck on a rock in the middle of the Tunga river near the old bridge here was rescued by firemen on Wednesday morning. The rescued individual was identified as Gopal (35).
It is said that Gopal had slept on the rock on Tuesday night and when he woke up on Wednesday morning, the water level had suddenly increased, making it difficult for him to reach shore.
Some locals who noticed the man stuck on the rock informed the Fire and Emergency Services who took a rubber raft up to the rock and rescued the man.
