CHIKKABALLAPUR: A man stabbed his wife with a screwdriver and a knife, suspecting her of having an illicit affair, at Patrenahalli village in the taluk on Monday. The woman is now being treated for her injuries at the district government hospital here.
Ramesh had fallen in love with Nirmala and the two had got married in 2010. However, he suspected her of having an illicit affair. On Monday, Nirmala was at her friend Sunitha’s house when Ramesh arrived there, and attacked her multiple times with a screwdriver in the face, chest and back. He even attempted to slit her throat with a knife.
Sunita also suffered injuries in the right forearm in the melee. After committing the act, Ramesh then surrendered before the Chikkaballapur Rural police, who have registered case and taken up further investigation.
