Man shot at in broad daylight in Kalaburagi; property dispute suspected

KALABURAGI: In a daring attack, unidentified persons who came in a SUV, opened fire at a man, leaving him injured in the left arm, near the Aland checkpost in the city on Saturday afternoon. The injured is Chennaveera Patil, brother of former zilla panchayat member and Congress leader Santosh Patil Dannor.

A youth was also with Chennaveera Patil at the time of the attack and sustained injuries in the leg. It is suspected that the attackers, who were about 4-5, are supporters of Bassu Guttedar and the attack may have been carried out in connection with a property dispute.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Addur Srinivasulu and other senior police officers visited the spot. The DCP said, “Around 12.30 pm, two parties were involved in an argument over a property dispute in front of Jai Bhavani Maratha Khanavali. At this time, one person opened fire and some people have sustained injuries. They have been shifted to a hospital. We will arrest all those involved”.

Sticks and stones were found in the Mahindra Bolero.

The police also found stones and sticks stored in the Mahindra Bolero which was used in the attack. A case has been registered at the Suburban police station.
