TUMAKURU: A man poured petrol on his wife and three children and set them on fire, suspecting that his wife was having extra-marital affair, at Muddaneralekere village in Madhugiri taluk on Sunday night. The accused fled after locking the house from outside, but was arrested later on.
The Midigeshi police have now arrested the accused Ramanji. The deceased, who was identified as Shanthamma, died on the spot. The three children — Akshaya (17), Akshitha (13) and Amritha (10) — sustained severe burn injuries. They were given preliminary treatment given at the government hospital in Madhugiri and shifted to Bengaluru for further treatment.
