HASSAN: A man set his house on fire at Doddabikanahalli village in Hassan taluk on Friday after his wife refused to allow him to see his children. The wife and two children were injured in the incident.

Rangaswamy, his wife Geetha, and their children, Chirantan (7) and Nandan (5), were injured in the incident and are being treated at the Hassan district hospital.

The couple were involved in a property dispute and a case as registered at the Gorur police station in this regard.

Rangaswamy was living separately since the last four months ago, but he used to come to see his children at home. On Friday, Geetha did not allow him to see the children. Enraged by her behaviour, he set the house on fire after pouring petrol. Geetha and her two children, who were inside the house, were rescued with the help of locals.

Household articles in the house were completely gutted. The Gorur police have arrested Rangaswamy after a complaint was filed against him.
