KOLAR: A special court for POCSO cases has convicted a man and handed him a 20-year jail term along with a fine of Rs 45,000 for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor.
Car driver Gangadhar, a resident of Maruti Nagar in Mulbagal, was accused of kidnapping a minor and sexually assaulting her. A case was registered against him under the POCSO Act at the Bethamangala police station.
The police inspector had filed the chargesheet in the court of POCSO court judge K B Prasad who convicted the accused. The judge also ordered that Rs 4 lakh relief be given to the victim.
