CHITRADURGA: A man selling alcohol on his two-wheeler was stopped and taken to task by villagers of Koonikere in Hiriyur taluk on Sunday while he was transporting it on his motorcycle.
The accused Chidananda sells alcohol by taking it across villages. Over the last few days, villagers of Koonikere have been opposing the sale of alcohol and have even petitioned the authorities.
After stopping Chidananda, the villagers called the Hiriyur Rural police who arrived at the spot and took him into custody.
