UDUPI: A boy who left home has returned after three decades. The reunion between the father and son is heartwarming. The incident occurred in Padukuduru village of Udupi district.

Locals voucher for the miracles of the deities in the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi and they cite numerous instances of the faith and devotion of the people being rewarded by the deities.

Sundara Poojari, a resident of the village, had three children, including a son named Boja Poojari. Boja left home for some reason and did not return for 28 years. There was no contact with him, and the family did not know if he was alive or dead.

The family, including Boja’s parents and sisters, prayed to the local deities, including Bhadrakali, Kodamanittaya, and Brahmayya Baidarkala, and took vows. Now, their prayers seem to have been answered as Boja returned home.

The 80-year-old father, Sundara Poojari, was overjoyed to see his son return. Boja, who had changed physically and in his speech, was identified by his father through a mole on his hand.

Villagers are celebrating that the family was rewarded for their prayers and serving Bhadrakali, Kodamanithaya, and Brahma Baidarkala temples in Padukudur since Boja was 12 till today.

Boja, who is now living with his wife and daughter in Hubballi, has expressed a desire to return to his hometown and settle there. The village is celebrating the reunion of the father and son.
