MANDYA: A man rained blows on at least three women and thrashed them with a stick after they questioned him about the construction of a house, allegedly on their land, at Nellur village in Malavalli taluk two days ago.

The man, identified as Chandan, also hurled expletives at Lakshmamma, Ratnamma and Sakamma. A video of the incident has since been widely shared on social media and a case has been registered at the Malavalli Rural police station.

The women had questioned the family of Dodde Gowda, Manjula, Shivu and Chandan why they were constructing a house on Survey No. 116/4 which reportedly belongs to them. However, Dodde Gowda’s family claimed that they have a court order in their favour.

As the argument escalated, Chandan started attacking Lakshmamma, Ratnamma and Sakamma, leaving them severely injured. The women suffered injuries on the hand and head and are being treated at the government hospital in Malavalli.
