Man pushes two daughters into canal in Andhra village, body of one found

BALLARI: A man allegedly pushed his two daughters, Sindhu (11) and Anasuya (12), into the Tungabhadra high-level canal near Nemakallu village in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, reportedly over a domestic dispute.

Kallappa was reportedly frequently quarrelling with his wife. He took his two daughters to the canal and pushed them into the water. Anasuya’s body has been recovered and a search is on for Sindhu.

Police have taken Kallappa into custody and are investigating. The village, near the Karnataka border, is shaken by the incident. A case has been registered at Bommanal police station.
