Man on two-wheeler holds dog’s leash in hand and makes it run along, draws netizens’ ire

BENGALURU: A man was seen dragging a dog by holding its leash in his hand even as he was riding a two-wheeler near Hennur railway station. The incident occurred around 10 pm last night.

The bike rider was identified as Balaji, a resident of HBR Layout in Nagawara and he was seen riding without a helmet.  Some other rider who was behind, captured a video of the incident, and it has gone viral, sparking outrage among pet lovers.

The video has drawn the attention of the Bengaluru police who have taken up investigation. The man was seen riding his bike with one hand, causing trouble for the public, while the dog was struggling to keep up with speed.

Balaji claimed he was exercising the dog through running. He stated that he usually takes the dog running with an autorickshaw, but decided to use his bike on that day.

Balaji admitted to the act but claimed it was not intentional. He said, “I used to do this with the dog once a week as physical activity. Usually, I sit inside an autorickshaw and make the dog run. Someone took a video yesterday”.
