BENGALURU: A man murdered his wife by slitting her throat in the middle of the road at Pragati Nagar near Doddathoguru in Electronics City police limits on Friday night, as he suspected her of infidelity. The accused Krishnappa fled the scene after committing the murder, but was nabbed by locals and handed over to the police.

The man was carrying two knives to slit his wife’s throat.

The victim Sharada (35) hailed from Bagepalli in Kolar district. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Sarah Fathima visited the spot along with the forensic teams and sent the body to St John’s Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The DCP said Krishnappa murdered his wife around 8 pm on a road when she was returning home from work. “We received a call at the control room around 8 pm and immediately, the Electronics City police rushed to the spot. The accused is in the custody of the police and we are questioning him about the motive for the murder. He was carrying two knives at the time of the murder”.
