BENGALURU: On a day Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Bengaluru, a man, who was travelling on his scooter with his six-month-old child, met with an accident after he hit a pothole and fell near Halasur on Friday.
Angered by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) negligence, he sat on the road where he had fallen, and staged a protest for nearly four hours.
After the fiasco when the PM visited the city last in June, the BBMP was careful enough to asphalt all the roads that the PM was to take on his Friday visit. However, roads in other parts of the city continue to remain in a pitiable state.
The unidentified scooterist sat on protest unmindful of the traffic flowing by and would not budge. The police, who arrived at the spot, later managed to convince him to end his protest.
Even after this, the BBMP did a shoddy job of fixing the pothole by dumping some sand and gravel mixture at the spot, inviting criticism from residents.
