BENGALURU: A woman in Banashankari has accused a man of cheating her of Rs 36 lakh after marrying her with false promises. The woman, a divorcee, had known the accused Mohan Raj for 10 years and married him in 2022. They had a daughter together in 2023.
Mohan Raj allegedly took money and gold from the woman, promising to build a house and start a new life. He has gone missing since leaving the house in 2025. The woman has filed four complaints with the police, but no action has been taken.
The woman alleges that Mohan Raj had another marriage and had divorced his previous wife with her help. She also claims he has relationships with other women and has sent them inappropriate messages. The police have registered an FIR, and further investigation is under way.
