Man loses hearing in one ear after being slapped by police sub-inspector

BENGALURU: An individual, Uday Kumar, has alleged that he lost hearing ability in his left ear permanently after he was slapped and brutally assaulted by Punith, a police sub-inspector at the Begur police station.

Uday claims that he was caught in the middle of a dispute between two landlords and was subsequently attacked by the PSI.

According to reports, the medical examination confirmed that Uday has suffered permanent hearing loss in the left ear due to the assault. The PSI allegedly threatened Uday, warning him that if he spoke about the incident in court, his name would be added to the list of history-sheeters.

The complaint also alleged that the police were unnecessarily involved in a civil dispute and took Uday to the police station, where theysubjected him to abuse, kicked and slapped him.

The incident has led to Uday seeking justice through the courts, claiming that the PSI’s actions have left him with a permanent disability.
