BENGALURU: A man allegedly strangled his wife to death in Hegde Nagar around 11 am on Tuesday, suspecting her of infidility. The crime came to light much later.
The deceased, identified as Velaramani (35), was killed by her husband, Chandrashekhar.
The couple Chandrashekhar and Velaramani got married 11 years ago and have two children. Chandrashekhar worked as a cab driver, while Velaramani was an accountant in a private firm.
Chandrashekhar had been suspecting Velaramani’s fidility for several days, as she was always talking over the phone.
On Tuesday, after their children left for school, a heated argument broke out between the couple. In a fit of rage, Chandrashekhar strangled Velaramani to death. Realising his folly, he later surrendered at the Sampigehalli police station.
The police visited the crime scene, conducted an investigation, and sent the body for post-mortem.
The body was handed over to the family members on Tuesday evening after the post-mortem. Chandrashekhar has been arrested, and a case has been registered at the Sampigehalli police station.
