KARWAR: In a joint operation by the police, a man was arrested after he killed his wife and stuffed her in a barrel, on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Shantakumari Madiwala (38), a resident of Tergaon village in Haliyal taluk, and the accused has been identified as Tukaram Madiwala.
Tukaram was married to Shanthakumari, who was ten years older than him. The couple used to have fights over the age difference and she suspected that Tukaram was talking to other women. When confronted, they started fighting, and he killed her. In order to cover up the murder, Tukaram put his wife’s body in a barrel and dumped it.
The accused hired his neighbour Rizwan Kumbari’s vehicle, and, along with his friend Sameer Pantoji, he went to dispose of the body in a forest near Ramanagara. The police caught them while disposing the body and arrested the accused in a joint operation by Haliyal and Ramanagara police.
