KOLAR: A man killed wife by slitting her throat with a weapon, suspecting her fidelity, at Amaravati Layout in Bangarpet town in the district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Nandini (34).

The accused Nagaraj surrendered at the Bangarpet police station after committing the murder.

Nandini’s father Srinivas said, “Nagaraj is a drunkard and he used to quarrel and harass my daughter everyday. She had told us about his behaviour and we even had a meeting over a family dispute. My daughter wanted to stay with us, but I convinced her to stay with her husband for two more days. She has three school-going children. Nandini used to support us all the time, and she also discussed her brother’s marriage”.
