BIDAR: A man allegedly killed an 18-year-old girl by strangulating her for refusing to marry him, near Solapur lake in Bidar taluk.
Shivaleela (18), hailing from Mallik Mirjapur village, was pursuing a paramedical course and was living at Mangalpet in the town along with the mother. Srinivas, a resident of Chambola village was keen on marrying her.
However, when she refused, he took her to the Solapur lake where he strangulated her and fled. The police have since arrested Srinivas and handed him over to judicial custody. A case has been registered at the Bidar Rural police station.
