Man kills his lover over unending demands in Kanakapura

RAMANAGARA: A man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly killing a married woman at Marannadoddi in Kanakapura taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Shruthi (32), a resident of Sollapuradamma Street, Kurupete in Kanakapura town. She was married to Lokesh and was working at a marriage hall in the town. The police have arrested accused Hanumantha.

Shruthi was killed by her extra-marital partner Hanumantha.

On Sunday night, she called her sister and informed her that she was going to work.

Hanumanta and Shruthi had met on a social media platform and it turned into an extra-marital affair. Shruthi pestered him to meet her every day and annoyed by this, he took her to Marannadoddi road. There, strangulated her with a belt, killing her, and escaped.

A case has been registered at the Sathanur police station. The police investigated Shruthi’s mobile phone and arrested the accused. When police interrogated Hanumantha, he confessed that he killed her because Shruthi would not agree to end their extra-marital affair.

“On December 25, we found the body of Shruthi under suspicious circumstances. Shruthi was a married woman who had an extra-marital affair with Hanumantha. She posted their photo on Facebook about a month and a half ago and also demanded money from him. She threatened him to post their intimate photos on social media. He killed her due to this”, said Santhosh Babu, Superintendent of Police.
