BENGALURU: A man killed his 24-year-old girlfriend by slitting her throat after her birthday celebration on Friday as he was suspicious about her chatting with another person. The incident took place at Laggere.
The deceased has been identified as Navya, who was working as a clerk with the Internal Security Division of the state police department. The accused has been identified as Prashant. They were distant relatives and residents of Kanakapura and had been in a relationship for the past six years.
Navya celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, but he did not attend the celebration as he was busy. Hence, he planned to celebrate her birthday again on Friday and bought a her a cake. He killed her soon after she cut the cake by slitting the throat.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Victoria hospital for post-mortem examination. The Rajgopalanagar police have registered a case and are conducting further investigation.
