Man jumps off flyover in Nayandahalli, ends life

BENGALURU: A 30-year-old contractual employee of the Karnataka Vidyuth Kakhane (KAVIKA) committed suicide by jumping off the Nayandahalli flyover on Friday morning. He parked his two-wheeler on the flyover and jumped to his death.

Naveen had got married only two months ago.

Naveen Kumar had joined KAVIKA about 3-4 months ago and had got married just two months earlier. He left home stating that he was heading for work and ended his life on Friday morning. The Byatarayanapura rushed to the spot on receiving information. However, the motive for the act was not immediately known. Further investigation is under way.

“We don’t know what led him to end his life. He had left for work in the morning. He had returned from his brother-in-law’s house after dinner last night. I was waiting to pick up my daughter near the Jnanabharati Metro station. He asked me why I was there and I told him that I would pick up his sister and come home and my son and his wife headed home”, said Naveen’s father.

Man crushed under truck near Nelamangala toll plaza

A pedestrian was crushed to death by a speeding truck near the Navayuga toll plaza in Nelamangala on Friday. The deceased was identified as Rudramani (55), hailing from Davanagere.

The Nelamangala traffic police have arrested the driver and seized the truck. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
