BENGALURU: The Shivajinagar police have arrested a man accused of vulgar behaviour with woman and causing a disturbance in Rajiv Gandhi Colony on Queen’s Road.

The accused was Karthik. The incident occurred on April 13, when a woman was going to the second floor to sleep after finishing her dinner when Kartik, who lives in the opposite house, made obscene gestures at her while flashing his private parts.

The woman alleged that Kartik exposed himself and behaved inappropriately. When her husband intervened, Kartik allegedly assaulted him and the situation escalated. He started throwing a hollow block and a flowerpot from the second floor at those on the ground floor. Seven people were injured in the incident.

An FIR has been registered at Shivajinagar police station. During questioning, Kartik claimed that he was urinating when the woman was going to her room, leading to the altercation. However, the police are investigating the matter further based on the woman’s complaint.

In another incident, an autorickshaw driver was arrested for harassing a woman who was standing in front of a shop. The accused, identified as Mani, allegedly asked the woman for her phone number and even forced her to take a selfie with him.

The woman, who was visiting a shop with her friend, was disturbed by Mani’s inappropriate behavior and lodged a complaint with the Pulakeshinagar police. Based on her complaint, the police arrested Mani and sent him to jail.
