Mangaluru: A man from the city forced out his second wife on to the street after eight months of marriage after pronouncing triple talaq, though it has been declared unlawful.
Muhammad Hussain, who is a vegetable trader in Mangaluru, divorced his first wife and got married for a second time. Now, he gave triple talaq to the second wife too and sent her out of the house.
Muhammad Hussain, a resident of Marnamikatte in Mangaluru, Hussain had two children from his first wife whom he later divorced. For Shabana too, it was her second marriage and she had two children from the first marriage. Hussain and married Shabana eight months ago. He allegedly used assault his wife regularly and Shabana is now admitted to a private hospital.
Hussain took away Rs 10 lakh worth of gold ornaments ornaments. He grabbed her by the hair and forced her out of the house told her to ‘go and die anywhere’.
Shabana claimed that her husband punched her in the stomach and chest. A case has been registered against accused Muhammad Hussain in Pandeshwar police station.
Shabana’s mother-in-law Zohara and father-in-law Ahmed Abbu too allegedly joined Hussain in the act and a complaint has also been filed against them too.
In 2018, the Narendra Modi government had banned the practice of triple talaq to increase the dignity of Muslim women.
