KALABURAGI: A man has been sentenced to death by a local court for raping and murdering a minor girl. The convict Gunderao was also slapped with a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
The incident occurred in July 2023 in Aland police limits and the victim’s body was dumped in a well in the neighbour’s field. Following the incident, the Aland police had arrested the accused and filed a chargesheet.
After detailed hearing, the court has awarded death sentence to the convict. Apart from this, the court also directed that Rs 4 lakh relief be given to the mother of the victim from the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority.
