Man filming young women on Namma Metro nabbed, fined Rs 5,000 by BMRCL

BENGALURU: Security personnel at the Jayanagar Metro station apprehended a man who secretly filmed women on trains and captured videos and photos of their body parts.

The man, identified as Mahesh, was handed over to the police and the Metro authorities also levied a fine of Rs 5,000 on him. The accused had videos and photos of about 50 young women on his mobile phone. He was apprehended after a young woman travelling from Majestic to JP Nagar caught him filming her.

The BMRCL has proposed a fare hike which may come into effect in three months’ time.

Two security guards who were heading home after work came to the young woman’s aid and nabbed Mahesh. His act came to light when they checked his mobile phone. The BMRCL authorities have praised the security guards Sujith and S G Ram for acting promptly though they were off duty hours.
