Man dies of electrocution at minister Laxmi Hebbalkar’s sugar factory while transporting concrete mixer

DHARWAD: A man was electrocuted to death while transporting a concrete mixer to Mrunal Sugars, owned by Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalakar, near Uppin Betageri village in Dharwad taluk.

The incident occurred when the vehicle carrying the mixer touched a high-tension electric wire. Ramesh Gawde (30), hailing from Jamboti in Belagavi district, was holding the vehicle’s handle when he was electrocuted and died on the spot. Two others in the vehicle escaped unhurt as they had moved the vehicle back.

The Garag police station has registered a case. The concrete mixer was being transported from Nandgad in Belagavi district to Mrunal Sugars in Pudakalakatti village.
