BENGALURU: A biker died on the spot, and another was seriously injured when a truck crashed into a two-wheeler from behind following brake failure near the Tamil Nadu border on the Sulagiri highway on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
The deceased has been identified as Srinivas and was a resident of Rachamanahalli in Anekal taluk. Another person was seriously injured in the accident. The incident occurred around 7 am on Monday.
Two people were riding a Honda Activa when a Tamil Nadu-registered truck, which suffered brake failure, crossed the divider and crashed into their vehicle on the service road. Srinivas died on the spot while the other person is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to sources, Srinivas was a priest at a temple and is survived by a six-year-old daughter. The Sulagiri police have taken the truck driver into custody and are investigating further.
