CHIKKAMAGALUR: A man from Shanuvalli village near Hariharapura in Koppa taluk has alleged love jihad against his sister and sought action against a youth for posting pictures of her on social media despite objection.

The girl’s brother has lodged a complaint with the Hariharapura police and the SP.

While the relationship between the girl and the youth is unclear, Manoj, in his complaint to the Hariharapura police and Chikkamagalur Superintendent of Police Uma Prashant, has alleged that Mohammed Rauf of Koppa, who is currently in Dubai, has been posting photos of his sister on social media, which has distressd the family.

After warning Rauf, he lodged a complaint with the Hariharapura police on October 31, but he was told to lodge the complaint with the CEN police station. Manoj did so, but the CEN police inspector Nasir Hussain did not take any action even after 20 days, he has alleged.

Chikkamagalur SP Uma Prashanth said they are verifying all the details.

Chikkamagalur Superintendent of Police Uma Prashant said, “On Friday, Manoj has lodged a complaint with the Hariharapura police station alleging that Mohammed Rauf is posting photos of his sister. Earlier, he had lodged a complaint alleging that the photos were being misused and had sought deletion of the social media account. We are verifying all details.”
