Mounesh allegedly committed suicide fearing police questioning and harassment.

VIJAYAPURA: A 30-year-old man committed suicide by hanging at his farmland as he reportedly feared questioning by the police into the disappearance of his brother-in-law. The incident occurred at Hebbal village in Nidagundi taluk on Friday.

Mounesh Abbihal was earlier questioned by the Nidagundi police in connection with the disappearance of his sister’s husband Basavaraj. On Thursday too, he was questioned and let off. He returned home and was found dead on Friday morning.

Mounesh’s wife, sister and mother and the place where he was found hanging from a tree.

Mounesh’s family members have alleged that he feared questioning by the police in the case and hence committed suicide. They also alleged that he was tortured by the police. The Nidagundi police have registered a case and are investigating.
