HASSAN, BENGALURU: In more trouble for Holenarsipur MLA H D Revanna’s family, his older son and MLC Suraj Revanna has now been accused of indulging in unnatural sex on the promise of a job. On Saturday, the victim lodged a complaint with the Holenarsipur police a day after approaching the DG&IGP’s office in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, MLC Suraj Revanna’s aide Shivakumar has lodged a complaint against the victim at the Holenarsipur Town police station alleging that he had threatened Suraj of filing a sexual assault case if the MLC did not pay him Rs 5 crore.
According to the victim, he first came in contact with Suraj Revanna during the Lok Sabha election and was praised for his organisational skills. “He complemented me for making proper arrangements and took my phone number. After that, we me a couple of times. It was he who first messaged me and I was happy about it thinking that he would help me grow”.
Further, the victim said, “Suraj Revanna invited me to his Gannikadada farmhouse and I went there on June 16. But the policemen there stopped me and asked me to call the MLC. Suraj didn’t answer my call, but he telephoned someone and took me inside and closed the door. He first put his hand on my shoulder and started making unusual moves. Later on, I was sexually assaulted. He started blackmailing me and promised to give money and provide me a job. When I contacted Shivakumar, I was again offered Rs 2 crore and threatened with a case. I have now sent my complaint to the Hassan SP on email”, he said.
On the other hand, Shivakumar’s complaint says the victim contacted him seeking a job and he gave Suraj’s phone number to directly contact the MLC. On June 16, the victim went to the Gannikadada farmhouse seeking a job and started blackmailing after returning from there. The complaint says the victim claimed to be in financial trouble and sought Rs 5 crore failing which he threatened to file a sexual harassment case.
“When I mentioned about this to my boss (Suraj Revanna), he said the victim had visited him seeking a job. My boss said there were policemen posted on security duty and others also at that time and that he had done no wrong and there was no question of paying any money”, Shivakumar’s complaint said.
On June 18, the victim visited the district hospital in Hassan, got a medico-legal case seal on the hospital slip and started demanding money again. He threatened to bring disrepute to the family’s name if he was not paid and speak to the media in Bengaluru, Shivakumar’s complaint mentioned.
