BENGALURU: Close on the heels of the Chamarajpet incident, where a man was caught slashing the udders of three cows which were sleeping on the road at night in Vinayaka Nagar area, now another man was caught by animal lovers for mutilating the sex organ of a stray dog and subjecting it to unnatural sexual abuse in Jayanagar.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday at the Shalini Ground. Vidyarani, a local animal lover, visited the grounds to feed the stray dogs as she does every day. However, she was met with a gruesome sight — a person of Bihar origin was found to have made cuts to various parts of the dog and mutilated the sex organ. Not only that, some traces of unnatural sexual acts were found on the dog.
Vidya immediately alerted her friends and animal lovers through a WhatsApp group, and they rushed to the spot. They caught the suspect, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and ganja, and handed him over to the police.
A complaint was been filed at the Jayanagar police station, and the suspect is being interrogated. The dog has been taken to a veterinary hospital for treatment. This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and animal lovers are expressing concern over stray animals.
Vidyarani, who used to feed 27-plus stray dogs every day, said, “When I was at the Shalini Ground, I heard a weird sound. Immediately I rushed there, but when I reached the spot, the miscreants left in an auto. On March 4, the same miscreants planned to attack me. I have recorded him. Then, the dog came to my house; there were cuts and wounds on its body, and the miscreant had one more stray dog with him for unnatural sex. Locals helped identify the accused when I showed them the recorded video. Later, treatment was given to the dog at a veterinary hospital”.
