BENGALURU: A man was assaulted by his uncle’s son and son-in-law over a property dispute in Kodigehalli. The victim was initially treated for his injuries and is currently undergoing further treatment at a private hospital. The police have arrested five accused in connection with the incident.

The victim, Munikumar, son of Muniraju, was allegedly attacked by his uncle Chikkamuniyappa’s minor son and son-in-law Sathish and several other accused.

The victim Munikumar’s wife Mala lodged a complaint with the Kodigehalli police, who arrested five people, including Sathish, Bharat, Tejas, Gani and a minor. The prime accused Satish is said to be the mastermind behind the case.

The dispute between the two families of Muniraju and Chikkamuniyappa, who are brothers, had been ongoing over land issues. Recently, the dispute escalated and Munikumar allegedly gave some advice, which led to a minor threatening him.

Three days later, the minor attacked Munikumar on the evening of April 25, while he was returning from the gym. Munikumar was attacked in the hand, chest and neck with rods and deadly weapons by the minor and several others near the Kodigehalli BBMP gym around 7.30 pm on that day. Munikumar managed to escape with the help of the gym staff and took protection.

Munikumar’s wife Mala, who is six months pregnant and has a six-year-old child, is seeking justice. The police are investigating the case, and the accused are in custody.
