BENGALURU: A man has been booked for blackmailing his female friend after secretly filming her bathing using her own mobile phone. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the RR Nagar police station.
The accused, Sanjay, has been secretly recording his female friend bathing using a mobile app and started blackmailing her. The victim, who worked with Sanjay at a private company in Pattaguppe, had given her mobile phone to him. 
The victim, her colleague, and Sanjay, all three would go on outings and she had befriended Sanjay. Hence, she gave her phone to him, trusting him. Sanjay downloaded an app without her knowledge that allowed him to operate her phone remotely.
One day, while the victim was taking bath, Sanjay used the app to record her. He then used the video to blackmail her, sending it to her and threatening to share it with her colleagues. He made up a story that one of her colleagues sent those videos.
Suspicious of this, the victim discovered Sanjay’s deceit when she checked her phone. A case has been registered against him and further investigation is under way.
