Man attempts suicide at Hosahalli metro station, services hit on Purple Line

BENGALURU: A man suffered serious head injury after allegedly attempting suicide by jumping on to the metro tracks at Hosahalli metro station around 8.56 pm on Monday and was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. There was no loss of life, but Metro services were disrupted for some time.

The man who fell on the metro track has been identified as M Sagar, a resident of Basaveshwara Nagar, Bengaluru. Govindarajanagar police inspected the site. In the meantime, the Metro staff claimed that Sagar did not attempt suicide, but slipped and fell on the track.

The trains were operated on a short loop between Challaghatta and Mysore Road and Nadaprabhu Kempegowda State to Whitefield (Kadugodi) stations for some time. The BMRCL informed that normal train service was resumed on the entire purple line at 9.30 pm.
