MANGALURU: The Panambur police acted quickly and saved a man and his young daughter who attempted suicide due to domestice issues in Kavoor police limits.
Rajesh, a resident of Shantinagar under the jurisdiction of Kavoor police station, attempted suicide with his daughter following a marital dispute. The police intervened just in time as he was trying to hang himself at home.
Earlier, Rajesh had gone to Thannirubhavi beach with his daughter intending to commit suicide and made a video on his mobile. He shared the video with his sister and other relatives. The video, which showed his shadow and his daughter’s, was shared on social media and came to the notice of the police.
The Panambur police, after viewing the video, went to the beach and searched for the duo but couldn’t find them. They then tracked Rajesh’s mobile location and went to his home in Shantinagar, where they broke open the door and rescued Rajesh and his daughter.
Rajesh had married a woman from Bajpe seven years ago, and they had been facing marital issues, leading to the suicide attempt. The police took Rajesh and his wife to the station and counselled them.
