VIJAYAPURA: In a shocking case, a man brutally attacked his wife with an sharp weapon in broad daylight near Sangam Bar in Sidagi town on Friday. The attack was captured on a mobile phone camera.
The victim Anasuyabai (45) was attacked by her husband Yamanappa Madar (52) as he suspected her of having an extramarital affair. The video shows Yamanappa chasing his wife on the road and attacking her with an iron rod. When people tried to intervene, Yamanappa threatened them.
However, some locals managed to overpower him by hitting him on the head with a wooden stick. Both Yamunappa and Anusuya were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. The police have registered a case against the husband.
This is not the first time Yamanappa has attacked his wife. A similar complaint was lodged against him at the Kalkeri police station earlier. The couple are from Kerotagi village.
