Man attacked on court premises in Jewargi

KALABURAGI: A man was brutally attacked by three men inside the court premises in Jewargi, in the district. The attackers tried to smash the man’s head with a stone and the incident was captured on a mobile phone.

The victim is Devendra (27), a resident of Yathanur village, who was rushed to the district hospital for treatment. The reason behind the attack is still unknown. The three accused are Siddu, Shivalingappa and Srisail. A case has been registered at the Jewargi police station.

Devendra’s wife Shruti, said, “My husband, Devendra, and I were in a relationship for four years and we got married on December 29. He was wrongly accused in the Sangana Gouda murder case and sentenced to life imprisonment. After he came out on parole, we got married. I waited for him for four years while he was in jail. However, our relatives, who couldn’t accept our marriage, are now plotting to kill him”.

“I’m fighting the case in the High Court regarding my husband’s conviction in the murder case. But Siddappa, Srishail and others are planning to kill him. Therefore, my husband needs proper protection”, Shruti urged.
