HASSAN: A man was arrested by Railway Police in Arasikere for allegedly raping and murdering an unidentified woman at the Hassan railway station. The accused, Mousam Pahadi (25), is a resident of Morang district in Nepal.
According to the police, the victim’s body was found in a room at the railway station’s oil and petroleum godown, which is under construction. Pahadi had allegedly murdered the woman overnight by crushing her head with a cement brick.
Civil engineer, Pavan C M, had filed a complaint with the Railway Police, following which a team was formed to investigate the case. The team, led by Railway Circle Inspector Chetan V, arrested the accused and produced him in court. Further investigation is under way, officials said.
