BENGALURU: A man, who came to Bengaluru to see his paramour directly after visiting the Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala, without even visiting his house, has been arrested for killing her husband. Both are now in jail.
The man and his paramour killed her husband for objecting to meeting him, after he arrived from Sabarimala. Enraged by this, the woman killed her husband Venkata Nayak with the help of her lover by smashing his head with a stone. Later, she called the police helpline 112 and tried to project is an an an accidental death claiming that her husband had slipped in the bathroom and died.
The prime accused, Nandini Bai, a resident of HSR Layout, called her lover Nitish Kumar, who had just returned from Sabarimala, to her house on January 9 when her husband was not at home. But Venkata Nayak returned home unexpectedly when Nandini and Nitish were physically intimate.
Nandini was distraught by her husband’s sudden arrival. She immediately planned to kill him to continue her affair. After smashing her husband’s head with a stone, she tried to make it look like an unnatural death (UDR).
The police grew suspicious when the autopsy revealed that it was not an unnatural death, but murder. Immediately, the HSR Layout police arrested Nandini and interrogated her. She put up an act at the police station and cried for her husband saying that she wanted her husband back.
She revealed the truth when the police intensified their investigation and admitted to the murder. Both Nitish and Nandini were childhood friends and they fell in love with each other. Both Nitish and Nandini hail from Andhra Pradesh. The accused Nitish Kumar has been arrested. .
