HUBBALLI: A man, who married a woman who already had four children, allegedly forced her to convert to Islam after marrying her. He has since been arrested by the Kalghatagi police in Dharwad district.
The accused, Mujahid Khan from Bengaluru, had married Ashwini, a mother of four children, in 2017. Initially, everything seemed fine, but soon Mujahid started physically and mentally torturing Ashwini, forcing her to convert to Islam. He also threatened to kill her.
Ashwini lodged a complaint against her husband at the Kalghatagi police station on Friday and Mujahid was arrested from Bengaluru and brought to the Kalghatagi police station. The Sri Ram Sena had also extended support to Ashwini.
