BENGALURU: A man was arrested for attempting to murder his estranged wife by slitting her neck with a knife when she came to purchase an anklet in a shop.
The Madanayakanahalli police have arrested the husband Gurumurthy (48) for attempting to murder Jamuna (38).
Gurumurthy and Jamuna had been married 18 years ago, but have been living separately for 11 years due to Gurumurthy’s alcohol addiction and domestic disputes.
In the past, Gurumurthy had stabbed Jamuna with a knife during a quarrel and had asked her not to appear as a witness in a case. However, Jamuna had refused to comply, leading to Gurumurthy’s violent outburst. The police have arrested Gurumurthy and sent him to jail on charges of attempted murder.
