BENGALURU: A man was arrested by HAL police on charges of attempting to murder a woman’s relative, whom he had been harassing `in the HAL area, Bengaluru.
The accused Selva Karthik, who hails from Tirupattur in Tamil Nadu, had been stalking the woman, who was married, after meeting her on Instagram. He had been pressuring her to reciprocate his affections.
The woman’s father and relative had called Karthik for a meeting to address the issue near HAL. During the meeting, Karthik allegedly attacked Sathish, the relative, by slitting his throat, while they were on a moving bike. Sathish is currently receiving treatment in the ICU.
The incident took place on July 17, but came to light only now. The HAL police have arrested Karthik and are conducting an investigation.
