CHITRADURGA: One person has been arrested for allegedly attacking five people with acid at Mallappanahatti in Chitradurga district. The incident occurred on March 19, and the accused Suhail Basha was arrested from near Chintamani in Chikkaballapur district.
Suhail Basha’s wife, Tahsina Banu, had filed a complaint against him and his family members, and they had been living separately for a year. The police believe that Suhail Basha attacked his wife and her family members, including her sisters and children, with acid and a machete at their home in Mallappanahatti.
The victims, including Tahsina Banu, her daughters and her sisters, are recovering from their injuries. The police had formed three teams to track down Suhail Basha, and he was finally arrested under the leadership of CPI Prakash Patil. Police Superintendent Ranjit said that the suspect had been arrested and further investigation is under way.
